JEOL JEM 2100+

JEOL 2100+

The JEOL JEM 2100+ is a multipurpose transmission electron microscope operating at 200kV (120 and 80kV are also possible) utilising a stable high output LaB6 thermionic emission source.

The instrument can be used to analyse a wide range of samples from metals, to ceramics, MOFs, biological samples (with appropriate sample preparation).

Analysis available includes:

  • Bright and dark field imaging
  • Electron diffraction
  • High-resolution lattice imaging
  • EDS analysis providing a full suite of sample characterisation and analysis on the nanoscale.

The system uses a new Gatan RIO camera, which is capable of high speed imaging (up to 20 frames per second at 4k x 4k and 160 frames per second at 1k x 1k resolution) and collection of large fields of view up to 16 megapixels (4k x 4k), with drift correction and full resolution imaging at live frame rates.

The system is also equipped with a STEM system which allows collection of elemental distribution map\spectral imaging application to aid introduction to the technique before progression to the advanced aberration corrected JEOL 2100FCS dedicated STEM system.

Different holders are available depending on the required application – single tilt, high tilt (tomography) holder and low background double tilt holder.
