About our research

Tendons and ligaments provide stability, energy storage and transfer functions to the musculoskeletal system. Tendons connect bone to muscle and ligaments bone to bone and are specialised for function in articular and extra-articular tissues. We use a combination of biomechanics, proteomics, transcriptomics, structural characterisation and cell and molecular techniques to study the development, homeostasis and ageing of tendons and ligaments.
