What is included in the cost of your accommodation?

The cost of your accommodation covers lots of useful things.

The cost includes:

• All fuel bills (such as gas, water and electricity)
• Basic contents insurance provided by Howden's - it is important to register your Student Cover here
• High-speed internet facility which connects to the University file stores and your online teaching modules
• WiFi is included all around each hall - IT Services can be accessed here
• Exemption from council tax - Council Tax student certificates can be requested from Student Administration here
• Membership of the Halls Student Committee, which gives you a voice in how your halls are monitored and the events you take part in
• Halls Life events such as up to 75% off organised trips through the Guild's "give it a go" programme
• Personal support from our in-house Residential Advisor team and pastoral support from our senior academic wardens
• Onsite laundry is paid for separately outside of your rent and is operated by Circuit Laundry. The cost for 2026 entry is £2.50 for a wash and £1.50 for a dry
