The RA role is a position that is both challenging but also highly rewarding, and is well suited to more mature students, postgraduate students or returning undergraduates. In becoming and RA you will have the chance to diversify your skill set in many areas such as event organisation and delivery, communication and leadership. Residential Advisers also receive reduced fees. Please see our Residential Adviser Fees for further information.
Your key duties as a Residential Adviser are:
- Provide an overnight support service to deal with incients in the halls (on a rota basis)
- Pastoral responsibility for a group of around 50 students in your halls, and maintain regular contact to ensure wellbeing
- Event management, support and assistance - help the Halls Life Team and the Halls Student Committee put on some fabulous events both in the halls, on campus and all over the place!
To find out more about what support is available in our Halls, please check out our Support In Halls section.
There are a range of living options availble for you as an RA - everything from shared RA flats to apartments. There are currently limited spaces available at the beautiful Greenbank Student Village where you can get the best of both worlds: living in a stunning leafy suburb of Liverpool, but only a short commute from Campus and the City Centre.
There are also a few options available on Campus too, click here for more information on the Halls, and decide which location suits you. You can state your preference on your application form, just bear in mind it is first come first served, so you may be offered a position in another location.
If shorlisted, you will be invited to interview for a position to a panel consisting of the Hall Warden and a member of the Halls Life Team.
